There's a lot going on for BTEC in the month of November! Please take a few minutes to read our latest and greatest. There's a few key dates that you should keep in mind. If you're interested in joining BTEC and think you may be able to contribute to the leadership of the organization, please note that November 4 is the deadline to nominate individuals to serve on the BTEC Board of Directors. Employees of all active BTEC members are eligible for nomination.

On November 6, we are co-hosting a Congressional briefing in the new U.S. Capitol Visitor Center on biomass thermal energy policy. And finally, we will be holding our first Annual Membership Meeting on November 18. This event, being held in D.C. and online via webinar, is open to BTEC Members and prospective members.

DeadlineNov 4 Deadline for BTEC Board Nominations






The BTEC Board of Directors will be elected at BTEC's first Annual Membership Meeting
on November 18.

The deadline for Director nominations is 5 p.m. ET on November 4, 2009.

Think you can contribute to the leadership of the organization? Join BTEC today All members may recommend individuals for the Board that are in their organization or individuals in any other BTEC member organizations.

Prospective members can sit in either online or in D.C. as limited observers of this 2-hour event.

  • Hear from Board nominees and vote in the Board of Directors election (Members Only)

Heat accounts for one-third of U.S. energy use. Biomass has the potential to meet a large portion of that energy demand with a sustainable, renewable resource. Join us for a Congressional briefing on how appropriate public policy can help displace imported fossil fuels and reduce carbon emissions through biomass thermal energy. This event is open to the public.

SummaryBTEC Government Affairs Update

Earlier this month, BTEC members were sent comprehensive BTEC policy update from BTEC Government Affairs Committee Chairman Jon Strimling. This update included a summary of the various policies BTEC is helping shape on their behalf. These policy initiatives, if enacted, could mean hundreds of millions of dollars for the biomass thermal industry.
