Membership Categories and Dues

Sustaining Member
Sustaining Member contributions provide the financial resources needed for the development of the organization and for its continued efforts to advocate on behalf of biomass thermal energy at the local, state, and federal levels. Upon application approval, all Sustaining Members become a voting member of the Policy Committee, receive special recognition on the BTEC website and in promotional materials, and may designate a Director to serve on the Board, up to a bylaw-defined limit.
Biomass Fuel Member
Category includes companies that generate more than 50%
of their revenues from the manufacturing,
distribution, or trading of biomass fuel
products primarily for thermal applications.
Including, but not limited to:
- Biomass fuel manufacturers
- Biomass fuel distributors
- Biomass fuel traders
Biomass Appliance Member
Category includes companies that manufacture or distribute
biomass thermal appliances and
equipment and are not eligible for any of
the other categories. Including, but not
limited to:
- Appliance manufacturers and
manufacturers of other equipment that
produces heat from biomass thermal
resources
- Distributors and traders of biomass
thermal appliance and heating equipment
Biomass Supply Chain Member
Companies involved in biomass thermal energy that wish to become a member and are not eligible for any of the other categories. Including, but not limited to:
- Feedstock companies / Forest and land management companies
- Logging companies / Mobilization companies
- Manufacturers of equipment serving biomass thermal energy markets
- Commercial and residential appliance manufacturers
- Capital investment companies
- Architects, engineers, and other consultants
- Insurance companies
Education/Non-Profit Member
All allied non-profit organizations and educational institutions that wish to become a member.
Membership Dues
If you join by September 15, 2010, your membership dues for the year of 2010 will be reduced by 50%, except for sustaining membership. Your membership period begins when your application is approved and payment is processed. Your discounted membership ends December 31, 2010.
Except for non-profit organizations and Sustaining Members, all members pay dues based on their company’s most recent gross annual revenues.
